馬勒與包浩斯之間……
整理CD的時候才發現,好幾年沒聽的Mahler No. 10掛點了。雖然是很久沒聽的CD,一想到要再去弄一套來還是覺得挺麻煩的。倒是翻著翻著裡面的小冊子,發現一段驚人的文字:
It is probable that the first two movements were drafted before the crisis in Mahler’s marriage, which occurred at the end of July 1910 when he discovered that his wife Alma had been having an affair with the architect Walter Gropius, who had wanted her to leave Mahler for him (she was to marry Gropius some years after Mahler’s death). It certainly looks as if the little B flat minor third movement, which Mahler entitled ‘Purgatorio oder Inferno’ (the last word has been crossed out, either by Mahler or by Alma) was his immediate reaction to the trauma of the discovery.
(第十號交響曲)前兩樂章的草稿,很可能是在1910年七月底,馬勒婚姻危機的時候譜下的,馬勒於那時發現他妻子阿爾瑪與建築師華爾特.葛羅畢烏斯有關係,後者還要阿爾瑪為他離開馬勒(馬勒去世後幾年,她和葛羅畢烏斯結了婚)。馬勒在降B小調的第三樂章上面給了「煉獄抑或地獄」的標題(地獄一詞後來被劃掉,可能是馬勒或是阿爾瑪劃掉的),這顯然是馬勒發現阿爾瑪外遇後,對此打擊的頭一個反應。

按華爾特.葛羅畢烏斯是藝術學校「包浩斯」的創辦人。(另外,佛洛伊德為了馬勒與妻不睦,還當過馬勒的治療師。)這些十九世紀末、二十世紀初泡維也納圈子的人是怎樣,怎麼個個都有關聯啊……

哪都適用。
